video thrilled the podcaster
We’ve gone 3D, baby! Length, breadth, and time. Check, check, check the first Half Fast Videocast, and see what happens when you put together duct tape, bungee cords, a cheap-ass digital camera, and a bicycle.
Okay, so it’s more like the dress rehearsal for a videocast. Even with my relatively upright commuting rig, the camera mostly shot video of the ground rushing beneath the bike. And “ground rushing” ain’t exactly groundbreaking, eh? Next time, I’m gonna mount the camera straight to the bike, thanks to this Camera Hacker tip unearthed by my good friend John. Thanks, man!
Still, it was good practice to make sure that the camera can stand the shaking of the road, and to learn how to splice ‘n’ dice the footage afterward. Video editing is hella fun, but’s it’s also hard. My hat’s off to people who do this for a living, and can squeeze out a few full-length feature films in the time it took me to butcher up a six-minute ride to the train station.
