livin' strong again
Well, it’s that time of year again. Time for me to dust off my beggin’ shoes and ask you all for donations to the LiveStrong foundation.
I’m doing the 70-miler again, at least I hope I am. Shiki’s in the shop right now having her rear wheel rebuilt, and I’m hoping they can wrap up the job by ride time. If not, I’ll do 40 on my mountain bike Marlene (or I’ll suck it up, be a badass and to the full 70 on ‘er.)
It turns out that 20 years on the road can put a bit of wear and tear on the ol’ wheels. And no one sells good 27” road wheels any more. They only offer those commie metric ones. So Shiki’s rear wheel is going to be 700 mm now. Fortunately, the difference is only about a quarter inch (that’s 6 mm to you, François), so she should still ride about the same.
All of that has nothing to do with the point of the ride, of course, which is raising money for cancer survivors. So please, head over to my fundraising site and help make a difference.
Thanks, and see you on the road!
