jingle bell hop

Back to the ancestral home in Dallas for a Boxing Day boogie.

jingle bell hop: 10 miles

So, my dad, my aunt, my uncle, and I all decided that the best way to burn off those Christmas calories was to take them out into the sunlight and actually burn them off in the record-breaking 80-degree weather with the help of our bicycles.

Um, wait. My bike was in Portland. Someone got the bright idea to rent one for me. My wallet was now fifteen dollars lighter, but I had a $1000 LeMond for the next couple of hours. Nice.

The city of Richardson has a sweet little network of bike trails. We took full advantage of the powerline trail, the Spring Creek Nature Area, and the tasty concrete smoothness of the fountain plaza in front of the Eisemann Center for performing arts.

Oh, and my dad wants credit for the extra 1.2 miles that we rode that didn’t show up on the Gmaps Pedometer website (which is merely displaying an approximation of our route). Considered it granted, Daddy-O. Consider it granted.
